The self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was finally convicted in a 16 year long Rape case on Friday by a CBI court in Panchkula, triggering widespread violence across Haryana, which left at least 30 people dead and over 250 injured.
The CBI court found the Dera chief guilty of Rape and transferred him to Ambala jail, where the quantum of his sentence would be pronounced today. The case against the Baba dates back to 2002, when an anonymous woman wrote a letter to then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and accused Ram Rahim of raping her along with several of his other followers.
Over the years CBI was successful in locating the whereabouts of Baba’s victims, which revealed some of the darkest secrets of Baba’s den. As per reports, the rape survivors narrated sequences of events, describing the tales as to how the godman had been raping them as well as other women inside his “gufa”, which was his personalized underground room.
A report in TOI states, “Only female disciples were deployed to guard Ram Rahim’s underground living quarters. ‘Maafi’ (Pardon) was the code word used among disciples to describe rapes.”
Quoting one of the victim’s statement, TOI reported, “I did not understand when other female disciples used to ask me if I had been ‘granted maafi by pitaji’ until I was raped by Gurmeet on August 28/29 1999, inside the gufa.”
In spite of his conviction and rape charges being framed against him, Gurmeet Ram Rahim still enjoys a massive support of crores of people, who are willing to die for him. The streets of Panchkula were swarming with his supporters on Friday before his conviction, who then turned violent after the CBI court jailed him.
With more than 1 lakh followers of Ram Rahim waiting on streets of Panchkula and Sirsa in particular, the Haryana Administration airlifted him to the Rohtak Jail, possibly avoiding any more causalities.
The government arranged for a helicopter to airlift him, but that gave way to one more controversy as some netizens accused PM Modi of sending his personal helicopter for Ram Rahim and offering special treatment to the tainted guru.
A lot of people accused PM Modi of being hand in hand with Baba Ram Rahim and trying to protect him from judicial custody. The social media was flooding with images of Narendra Modi on the very same chopper, that was used to airlift Gurmeet Ram rahim. The helicopter Baba Ram Rahim was traveling in, AW139 is meant for VIP and corporate transport. AW139 is a 15-seater Augusta Westland helicopter.
So, did PM Modi personally arrange a helicopter for Gurmeet Ram Rahim?
To reveal the truth, we at Unite For India went into the depth of the matter and came out with facts that PM Modi didn’t provide helicopter for Gurmeet Ram Rahim. The helicopter was arranged by Haryana Government and it didn’t belong to Gautam Adani, whose helicopter PM Modi uses.
There are 20 such helicopters in India with the numbering AW 139 and they are owned by different people.
The helicopter in which Ram Rahim was shifted didn’t belong to Gautam Adani or PM Narendra Modi.
