While most of us are busy making family goals, we have an example of what real family goals are. Bhasins, who are popularly known as the Aviations family, have a long history with air force.

The faces which are beaming with smile here are the proud members who constitute the Bhasin family. Call it their love for flying or good luck, they all are in the same profession. These 4 people here, represent 3 generations of Bhasins.
Parents, two children and their late grandfather have nearly 100 years of flying experience which they carry everyday to the cockpit. It all began with Captain Jai Dev Bhasin who was among the first seven pilots in the country to become a commander in 1954. Later, Nivedita Jain, his future daughter-in-law joined his company, Indian Airlines, and was the 3rd woman to do something like this.
After all those long years now, Nivedita and Captain Rohit Bhasin are proud parents of two young commanders, Rohan and Niharika Bhasin. On being asked about sharing a memory, Nivedita told, “I was at a friend’s birthday party when my father came running with an appointment letter for me from Indian Airlines. The day is etched in my memory. It was June 29, 1984”.
At the age of 20, it is indeed an achievement big enough to sweep you off your feet. Starting her journey in 1984, Nivedita went on to achieve her most cherished career milestones. At 26, she became mother to her one-year-old, and received her command on Boeing 737. This further made her the youngest woman captain of a jet plane in the world.
Niharika, the daughter said, “As a a child I used to keep looking at her while she was getting ready for work and I really wanted to dress up like that one day”. Niharika is 26 year old and has been flying with IndiGo for over four years and received her command on the Airbus A320 recently. She further also added, “I realise now how difficult it would have been to co- ordinate flying and bringing up two children. They made it seem so smooth, but in all honesty it’s not”.
“I was appearing for an interview for KG class when I introduced myself as Captain Rohan Bhasin. Somehow I felt that since both my parents were captains then I must also be one. I was obsessed with aircraft,” says Rohan, 29. His gut feeling was so accurate about his career choice that within 10 days after his 12 class exams, he was already in the US for training. From last 10 years till date, Rohan is working with Air Indian as the commander of Boeing 777.
So, like I mentioned, some absolutely inspiring family-goals!
