Manoj Munot, a businessman from Maharashtra, gifted 90 homes to underprivileged families from the money he saved for his daughter’s wedding.. These homes were built  from the money which both Munot and his daughter Shreya reserved by giving up on their  lavish celebration on the wedding which they had originally planned. This benevolent act from the father-daughter duo helped hundreds of needy people to get a roof above their heads.

The cottages that have been built in Aurangabad, cost approximately Rs 1.5 crore. Munot , with utter sense of satisfaction and delight stated that “Weddings are expensive and people end up spending a lot. But there is such a thing as duty to the people.

His daughter said she found happiness in seeing the joy in the eyes of those who will now benefit from this generous gesture.

As of now, 40 families have found shelter  into those well-built cottages and more are expected to move in soon., A domestic help, Shab Ali Shaikh, said that her new home has been a resolution to a lot of problems that she and her family faced earlier . “We had no electricity or water supply in our previous house. And the burden of paying a monthly rent has been eased,” she said.

Mansoor Shah, another person who now has a new home now thanked Munot, and said that no one who was benefited from their noble deed will ever forget the family. This act of generosity  will always be entrenched  in their hearts.
